Physical Disks

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

Let me get my palms on physical disks,

A few more Blurays and CDs to the list.

Charity shop bargains for a pound and 50p,

I'll be fine when the net goes down, clearly.

Media can be wiped from an online server,

Do you really need me to elaborate further?

Films bought via the PlayStation network, gone in a dash,

No refunds given, Sony just laughed and took all the cash.

This write represents the capitalistic and need for pay per view and the governmental control over information inherent in cloud usage all susceptible to a downed internet or power outage. What happened to good old fashioned books that do not rely on electricity or censors. Well done and a fave

Shaun, this is one heck of a poem. Funny, sharp, and absolutely infuriating because every bit of it is true. We pay for access, call it ownership, and then watch it disappear whenever a corporation changes its mind. Powerful work, my friend! πŸ’ΏπŸ“€πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

Yes. I never bother with 'Streaming' or anything on the Internet. Only CDs and DVDs. Though they are hard to get now. But I won't play their game and Stream. It's all money.
    Well Said. πŸ‘
