Tell Them I Love Them

Anthony Hanible

Tell them I love them

In small words

Soft as dust

On a windowsill at dawn

Tell them I love them

In the way the sky

Keeps opening

Even after the storm

Tell them I love them

When the road bends

When the night is loud

When the heart is a locked room

And no one knows the key

Tell them I love them

Because the world forgets

Too quickly

And people break

Too quietly

And sometimes the only bridge

Is a sentence whispered

Into the dark

Tell them I love them

Not later

Not someday

But now

While the breath is warm

And the hands are still reaching

Tell them I love them

Because I do

And because love

Is the one message

That should never arrive

Too late

This is a most beautiful poem with the message being its crowning point. Telling others of your love is a beautiful gesture in a world already too dark and sad. Don't delay or the chance may be lost. Nicely said my friend.
