Hazel eyes take me away,
somewhere far, far away.
I think of trees and dirt,
a forgotten forest of magic on Earth.
They hold flowers
and lines of gold.
They always give off kindness.
Hazel eyes,
take me away to somewhere
I dream of during the day.
When I think of them,
I'm not at home,
but floating,
and heaven has shown itself.
Hazel eyes give me peace of mind
and hope.
They hold the trails of deer and rabbits,
maybe a black bear
with her children.
Hazel eyes hold a familiar gift,
one that's too precious to give.
I think of mountains
and forgotten castles
that once held fairy tales.
They keep me wondering beyond my sight,
and I think of fairy lights.
Hazel eyes
will take you away
to a forgotten, heaven-kissed place.
The tree that's too tall to climb,
the mushroom by its side,
the moth that flew by,
or the owl saying hello.
Hazel eyes
will always take me away
to somewhere far, far away.
And you ask me why.
But I really don't know.
It's like they have a spell of love.
They hold meaning
no one understands.
Maybe it's because they're always changing in the light.
Maybe it's the way the sunlight reflects within them.
And they never leave my mind.
And when I feel
that everyone has forgotten the past,
They show the stories
that will forever last.
Stories of kingdoms and battles,
where dragons once flew
and fairy tales came to life.
Maybe even a classic love story or two—
he goes off to war,
while she waits,
singing a tune.
Hazel eyes
always keep me coming back,
searching for more
than what I have,
Wanting to relive the past.

- Comment from author about the poem: I think I got a little carried away, not gonna lie. 😂 But honestly, I wasn't thinking too much while writing this—I just let my mind wander to magic and kept going. I hope it's good, or at least okay compared to **Brown Eyes**. I think I might make it a series about different eye colors because I've already had so much fun writing the first two.
