Thank You For Everything

Anthony Hanible

When nights

Went thin

You stepped

Me in

When hope

Fell out

You quieted

My doubt

When storms

Ran wild

You steadied

My child

The trembling

In me

The part

I couldn’t

Let you

See

You held

My breaks

My faults

My shakes

You carried

Things

I couldn’t

Face

And never

Asked

For proof

Or grace

You stayed

Through cold

Through days

I folded

Through hours

I swore

Were too

Heavy

To hold

Your light

Small

Soft

True

Kept pulling

Me through

So here’s

My offering

My quiet

Ringing

Thank you

For everything
