The only king by right divine
Is Ellen King, and were she mine
I'd strive for liberty no more,
But hug the glorious chains I wore.
Her bosom is an ivory throne,
Where tyrant virtue reigns alone ;
No subject vice dare interfere,
To check the power that governs here.
O! would she deign to rule my fate,
I'd worship Kings and kingly state,
And hold this maxim all life long,
The King — my King — can do no wrong.

A fun read of passion drawn by beauty where desire drives the car. A great read set in good rhyme
Thank you, sir! It\'s actually Edgar Allan Poe\'s poem I reposted since it\'s in the public domain, I used it to describe the way I would respect a dear sister and praise her morality, this is not meant in a romantic passion sense. Thank you sir, I love your interpretation! 🙂
You are most welcome we are all inspired by the poetry of others and glad to hear that this is another instance of that
I enjoyed this. A fine Poem. 👍
Glad to hear, my good sir!
