I am Empty

Faded Silhouette

A cracked vessel such as I might hold water for a time

Though it will always flow out again

Like breathing

But wasteful and needless

So why do I keep pouring more in

When I will never have any to offer

To pretend that I am whole

I heard that in Japan cracked vessels are seen as beautiful. To stop them leaking they fill the cracks with gold. You need proper wealth to apply the analogy to a soul.
