To Magian convent came
My love, a bowl in hand;
With wine so drunk and drunk
The drinkers with her grand,
Narcissus-drunken eyes.
Beneath her horse's horseshoe,
The shape of new moon shiny;
So tall her stature, showing
The cypress top so lowly!
O' why should thus I say it,
As being not self-aware?
And why should I say it's not,
As having an eye on her?
My confident heart' candle
Was quenched when she stood round;
Complaining whine then rising
From gazers when she sat down!
If musk and amber fragrant,
They wafted through her tresses;
And woad if bowed, the archer,
It joined her eyebrow's blisses!
O' come back, life of Hafez
May then return, so soon passed,
Although will never come back
The arrow left the thumb fast!

A good read with some metaphor that left me wondering about the archer hitting the target. Well done
Hi my dear friend! Happy to hear from you again! Thanks a lot! The archer may be targeting a heart. It's another beautiful poem from Hafez. His ghazals are always full of beautiful literary terms, especially metaphors. Really difficult to translate, but I tried to do it with over 99% precision, nothing left indeed, all mentioned, only two or three words may be added for the sake of rhyming.
You are very welcome Mohammad I have found it quite difficult to translate poetry with rhyme. Hard enough to write it in one's own language let alone try to preserve the feeling, meaning and rhyme in another. I admired Alexander Pope and his translation of the Iliad and Odyssey. You did a wonderful job I would have to say without knowing the original work.
