Never enough

ꜱʏʟᴠᴀ

And I know that you love me,

And I love you too

I pray you're proud of me

But I wish you knew

I know that you love me

But sometimes i think

What's left to love

In this godforsaken thing?

And I'm sorry, i know you love me

And heaven knows I love you too but

Sometimes you make me feel I'm wrong

And I need to be better than my best

Sometimes I think I'm defined

But the grade I got in that test

Sometimes you make me want to be

Someone that I would hate

sometimes i think we share no more

than sheer luck or fate

Sometimes I think you deserve better than me

Someone better than a crybaby

Nothing I do will ever overdo your love

But nothing I do is ever enough.

it's never enough

it's never enough

it's never enough

When expectations exceed one's possibilities there is nothing worse for the ego. Well written

SYLVA, what a painfully powerful poem. You capture the terrible contradiction of feeling deeply loved yet continually measured...until affection begins to feel inseparable from failure. This truly moved me, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
