wood you?

Tristan Robert Lange

well, sure,
we would—
should?—
if only
we could
stroke the
rugged wood—
splintergasm—
did it feel good?

looked like it
from where i stood.

Where I grew up a woody was one of two thing one a station wagon with the old fake wood siding or well you know. A splintergasm another neologism for me but it makes sense in this context. I wonder about deforestation or forest fires under such circumstances. Loved the rhyme my friend

No tree was harmed in this sex act.
Which maybe can't be said for the one hugging the tree.
They do say fresh air is good for you, and who am I to argue.

This playful piece dances with sound, rhythm, and word invention, creating a mischievous energy that feels both clever and unexpected. I enjoyed the humor and the bold imagination woven through such a compact little poem.
