MOTHS AND BUTTERFLIES
In this world some of us are moths,
so graceful, so special,
almost butterflies.
Flying through life,
in those crowded closets,
eating whatever is within reach.
Flying through the night, searching,
chased by the forces of life,
in that struggle against a hard blow.
Suspended from the wind,
escaping,
flying,
and sometimes knocked down
by a blow, without knowing
who struck us down and we fell.
Until the end we fly,
like brown
butterflies.

POLILLAS Y MARIPOSAS
En este mundo algunos somos polillas,
tan gráciles, tan especiales,
casi mariposas.
Volando por la vida,
en esos armarios repletos,
comiendo de todo al alcance.
Volando por las noches, buscando,
perseguidos por las fuerzas de la vida,
en esa lucha contra un buen golpe.
Suspendidos del viento,
escapando,
volando,
y a veces derribados
por un golpe, sin saber
quién nos derribó y caímos.
Hasta el final volamos,
como mariposas
marrones.

Indeed we are a great comparison Carlos. Well written
Carlos, this really moved me. There is such tenderness in the way you honor lives that may be overlooked, yet remain beautiful in their own right. Wonderful poem, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
