Mental Breakdown To Spiritual Awakening (Part.3)

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

Once you accept God, watch them quickly depart,

Faster than Sonic The Hedgehog doing graffiti art.

No comfort with inner demons wrecking heads,

Years ago, was on prescribed antipsychotic meds.

I saw the shadow people, negative thoughts took over,

Paranoia and psychosis were a double headed boulder.

Are those sectioned really just trying to break free from the spell?

They were talking about religion in the mental health hospital as well.

Never believed in coincidences, doctors always blame the brain,

My awakening and mental breakdown were one and the same.

Shaun, this hit me hard. The collision of spiritual awakening and mental crisis is presented with such raw honesty...without forcing either experience into an easy explanation. Powerful poem, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
