The Great Delaware

Tristan Robert Lange

Notice of absence from Tristan Robert Lange
Life is full of seasons. This is a season of transition for me, where I will be moving with my family to a new location. As such, with much logistics to consider, I am doing my best to keep up. Please know if I accidentally don't respond, it is not because I am ghosting or becoming distant. Once things settle after the move, I am sure life will return to some normalcy. In the meantime, and always:

Tristan πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›
HALT!

speed meet stop!
hard exclamation.
whiplash.

concussive conclusion.

it’s all me,
they say.

all

my fault

say they,
who populate
and pray

that
their deeds
be seen great,
while their morals
are thrown away.

STALL!

till all y’all
can gather
and scrub up
unholy lather,

from blubber
and a caustic lie,
eats a hole in one
called truth.

BLAST OFF!

stop switches speed,
intentionally

g-force phenomenon
meets the necronomicon.
the givers of life
forget the sacred word,

cutting the head off
of the sacred bird,
blood drips
    d
    o
    w
    n
    ward—pools—
gathers in the birdbath,
while simultaneously seeping
down the plastered lath.

god’s tears
won’t be quenched—

flood, baby, flood—

until justice rolls down like
the great Delaware River.

Your words are so powerful. Your poem delves into the complexity of human morality, the consequences of neglecting ethical standards, and the desire for justice amidst chaos. It juxtaposes moments of urgency (halt, stall, blast off) with the weight of moral failures, suggesting an urgent need for introspection and accountability. So much pain, my friend.πŸ™

Thank you so much, Friendship. This one came from a place of fury and grief...but also an absolute refusal to surrender hope. I deeply appreciate you, my friend. πŸŒŠπŸ©ΈπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ™

A sacrifical rite in this poem to atone and make right. It is the epitome of associational magic where synchronicity not causality becomes the method. Well written Tristan your formatting draws attention to the actions. Well done

Thank you so much, Soren! You entered this through precisely the right doorway. My mystical sensibilities are fully present, and the visual movement allows the words themselves to participate in what is being enacted. Deeply appreciated, my friend! πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

Popeye & Co cannot form such erudite comments - they're busy with spinach and stuff! But what stuff, WCAT!! Good write T.

🀣🀣🀣 Orchi, you greatly underestimate the intellectual consequences of excessive leafy greens! Okay, admittedly maybe not erudite...but certainly errant! πŸ€ͺ Much appreciated, my friend! πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

Why, yes, Fido led me to write a poem, cos I used rather a long word, 'erudite'. lol.

People who commit wrongdoing blame others for their own corruption, but truth and justice will eventually surge through and wash everything clean, violently, inevitably, like a river in flood.

Thank you so much, Arqios! You’ve got this one...whatever people conceal and redirect eventually finds its way into the light. Deeply appreciated, my friend! πŸŒŠπŸ©ΈπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ™

Many thanks, David! I wanted the words to move with conviction and make their presence unavoidable. I’m delighted it connected with you, my friend! πŸŒŠπŸ©ΈπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ™

Damn, Neville! 🀣 I imagine you mean all that metaphorically. None of us are perfect, but I cannot imagine you EVER fitting the description of the Holy Bird slayers above. That said, I am glad it hit with such force! I truly appreciate you, my friend! πŸŒŠπŸ©ΈπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ™
