Oh; For Praying Out Loud

Kevin Hulme

Oh Dear Lord, what's it all about?

As I'm Scratching my head trying to Work it all out.

For we seek it here, We seek it there,

The Meaning of Life that you never did share.

The Constant Toil from Morning to night,

Those Slings and Arrows to which we fight.

She Loves me Yes!,  She Loves me not,

This Poor Old Heart is all but Shot.

And it's all very well saying 'Peace in our time',

But it all Kicks Off on the Spin of a Dime.

Disease and Famine keeps doing the Rounds,

It was Number One in the Charts when your Son came down.

So I ask you Dear Lord: What's It all about?

If you'd  like to divulge,  Please give me a Shout.

        You are most welcome

Kevin, this really hit me. The humor never softens the genuine spiritual frustration beneath it…humanity keeps searching, suffering, loving, and fighting while heaven remains frustratingly quiet. Powerful poem, my friend! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

I'll have to give 'The Meaning of life ' another Viewing. Thank you for Reading.

Oh sorry Kevin, you’ll never find out,
          I’m the Big Secret, that’s what it’s about…

I suppose Life gives us something to do.
Better than sitting around Heaven all day on your XBo .
            Thanks for Reading.

All that sitting on a cloud twanging a harp does not appeal. I have stoked boilers in me time - I'm ready.

This poem carries the timeless human search for meaning, mixing frustration, humor, and heartfelt questioning. There’s a humble honesty here, as the speaker wrestles with life’s struggles while still reaching upward for answers.
