Longing

vent_poet

Oh, to be loved

Not in the modern way

Or a lechery way

Or a beauty centered way

But in a soft

Gentle

Kind

Whole-hearted

And attentive way

In the kind of way where someone notices the small things

Like the fact I don’t actually like coffee

Or my favorite song

Or that I never wear gold

The kind of love with soft, lingering kisses

Not just ones filled with passion and lust
The kind of love that makes their arms feel like home

A place where the voices quiet

The static stops

The anxiety eases

Weight lifting from our chest in each other's presence

I don’t want big, extravagant gestures or overpriced gifts

I want hand written letters

Deep conversations

Reassurance without asking

Simple yet meaningful dates

Hand made, crafted gifts

I want to go stargazing,

I want to go hiking,

I want to walk the edge of the beach,

I want to make crafts together,

Or cuddle and watch TV.

I just want someone to make memories with.

I want the gentle love in movies

I want to be loved fully

And not just for my body

But for ME

Who I am as a person

My personality

My interest

My humor

My scars

My creativity

I don’t want to just be called hot

Or pretty

Or sexy all the time

But I want my eyes compared to diamonds or stars

I want someone who calls me

Stunning

Gorgeous

Beautiful

Vibrant

Sharp witted

I want someone to love as wholeheartedly as I want to love them

I want to be each others muses or reason to get up on the tough mornings

I will love someone like this one

And hopefully I will be loved like this

Just not today.

Love is out of fashion the world is selling passion. A good read that pulls at the heart strings of any relationship with the recognition the todays focus is on the moment and self satisfaction. Well written
