How Can You Help Pt. 7 Psychology 701 The Systems Of

Anthony Hanible

The systems of

The mind

Repeat

Repeat

In heat

In beat

A quiet street

Where storms compete

And still

Repeat

The systems of

The self

Turn

Turn

With burn

With churn

A lesson learned

In every stern

Return

And still

They turn

The systems of

The soul

Call

Call

From wall to wall

A rise

A fall

A fractured drawl

That echoes all

And still

They call

I walk the halls

Of thought

Thought

Caught in knots

The mind forgot

A ticking plot

In every spot

And still

I walk

I hear the ghosts

Complain

Complain

In chain

In strain

A low refrain

Inside the brain

That drips like rain

And still

They remain

I ask the mind

Can you help

And it chants

Back

Not yet

Not yet

Not yet

So I study

The break

The break

The quake

The ache

The faults that make

The heart miss take

Its own heartbreak

And still

They break

I hold the wires

Tight

Tight

Ignite the light

Beneath the fright

Teach wrong to right

Teach night to bright

And still

I hold.

And maybe help

Is this

This

The twist

The hiss

The endless abyss

We try to dismiss

But always revisit

And still

Persist.

Repeat

Repeat

Repeat

Until the beat

Becomes

A feat

Of staying

Complete

The beat is echoed in the meter of this poem with rhyme added it marches forward toward its end. Nicely done Anthony
