The Middle-Finger Christ

Tristan Robert Lange

Notice of absence from Tristan Robert Lange
Life is full of seasons. This is a season of transition for me, where I will be moving with my family to a new location. As such, with much logistics to consider, I am doing my best to keep up. Please know if I accidentally don't respond, it is not because I am ghosting or becoming distant. Once things settle after the move, I am sure life will return to some normalcy. In the meantime, and always:

Tristan πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

Sweet heaven, the squeal of righteousness
Troubles the self-righteous revilers;
Reckon there’s gonna be a reckoning.
Yellow and black beats black and white—
Pass on the pretentious—to hell with the devil,
Evil disguised as Jesus evokes the middle-finger Christ.
Revelation has arrived—apocalypse rocks the stage!

  • Comment from author about the poem: An acrostic Scorched Sunday poem. Part of my Scorched Strays collection and the first in its Rock Band Edition. This poem honors a band scorched from both sidesβ€”too Christian for the metal world, too metal for the Christian worldβ€”yet still raising holy hell in yellow and black.

A Christian metal band but I kind of took this another way my friend. There are those and have been those that as a false messiah and or prophet lead others like Jim Jones and David Koresh lead others down dark paths. A lovely poem Tristan

Thank you, Soren. That's an interesting connection. My focus here was a little different...less the false messiah and more the false witness who wears Christ's name. There's definitely some overlap, though. I always your time and your takes, my friend. 🀘πŸ”₯πŸ–€πŸ™

Both sides work and you are most welcome my friend

Indeed, they do. And I certainly appreciate you deepening the poem with that inisght, dear friend.🀘😎

We live in dreadful times, may God save us from all evil and from lies!

Thank you, my friend. Amen indeed. We need discernment now as much as ever. Really appreciate you stopping by. 🀘πŸ”₯πŸ–€πŸ™

a much enjoyed piece my friend

            • Thomas W Case

This piece crackles with defiance and urgency, its voice bold and unafraid to confront hypocrisy head-on. There’s a fierce energy here that feels almost prophetic, surging forward with conviction and fire.

              • Tristan Robert Lange

Thank you so much, Thomas. That means a great deal to me. You captured exactly the spirit I was reaching for. 🀘πŸ”₯πŸ–€πŸ™

A twelve disciple metal band would certainly get me back to church.
More noise the better I say, maybe a roman back-up band to keep people on their toes.

🀣 Now there's an image I can't unsee, Paul! Twelve disciples with Marshall stacks...I'd most definitely buy a ticket myself. Who knows, maybe we'd both find ourselves there headbanging and moshing together. Can you imagine who that might attract? Might be too sore to head out two-by-two afterward, though! 🀣 Thanks, my friend! 🀘πŸ”₯πŸ–€πŸ™

What Popeye does if we got no spinach for him! lol.

🀣 We'd have to break the emergency glass and issue him a can of kale. I don't know if civilization would survive the consequences, though! πŸŒŠπŸ–€πŸ›ΆπŸ™

Well written. Your poem explores themes of moral hypocrisy, spiritual conflict, and the clash between righteousness and self-righteousness. It suggests that those who claim to be virtuous may actually embody evil, particularly when they distort or misuse religious beliefs.

Thanks so much, Friendship. You definitely caught the heartbeat of this one. I appreciate your thoughtful read, my friend. 🀘πŸ”₯πŸ–€πŸ™
