WORLDS COLLIDE

David Welch

You’re in days,
I’m in night,
how much can you take?

You’re a lover,
I love to fight,
when you gonna break?

You live in black,
and I in red,
bereft of joy or praise.

You live in heart,
and I in head,
I see through all your haze.

You’re in dreams,
I’m in life,
went and seized the day.

You’re feasting,
but I’m hungry,
things are gonna go my way.

You got fame,
and I’m insane,
to go against a king

Money spent,
so decadent,
you won’t see me coming.

A poem of contrasts and opposites that fit somehow. Well done

David, this really grabbed me. It feels like two opposing worldviews locked in a head-on collision, each convinced its path is the stronger one. Thereโ€™s a driving confidence to it that never lets up. Strong write, my friend. ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ›
