Green with envy as a cute... little introverted mama's boy

poet2rhyme4tommorrow

resembled a monkey,

particularly when eating a banana,

who ofttimes emulated mannerisms
of other popular classmates
as coping tactic to deploy
feeling self aversion
not only because parents
named me Fitzroy
and way back in elementary school

wished washed hair of mine

looked like that as Donald Hoy
thick dark hanks that would bring me joy

to the world,

but no unconventional
mother and father
heard the doctor lol
at ridiculous appellation,
whereat cruel kids did taunt,
especially when linkedin
with the surname Noy,
but as a student enrolled,
in the school of hard knocks
I became a smart ass
and devised an ingenious failsafe ploy
and because yours truly
being identified, hashtagged
and gifted at birth
with expansive vocabulary,
and initially sporting
an outstanding crimson thatch
that covered my entire body

charging a pretty penny
to touch, and quickly darkened
thus blessed with the nickname
Liechtenstein nicknamed Roy
Scottish/Gaelic:
Comes from the word ruadh,
meaning red or ruddy,
traditionally used as a nickname
for someone with red hair
yours truly generated stares
complete strangers came up
and wanted to play with me
as if I happened to be a toy,
but solace discovered
among long lost pocket
of our provincial family
who with stoicism
proudly bore the name Vanscoy,
claiming legitimate Historical presence:
Early records in North America
show bearers of the name
commonly engaged
in agrarian work, such as farming.

Despite near immeasurable fortitude

an impossible mission

to shunt and thwart uber woebegone

wide whirled webbing

that blanketed psyche,

I made little or no effort

to maximize personal potential

and be an advocate for self,

when subjected to denigration -

humiliation throve.

Panic attacks of late

punctuate equilibrium of mine

offsetting ship of state,

where riptides suction

entire body electric of mine

deep sleep option annulled

subjected to hell fire blitzkrieg

figment of my overactive imagination

within numbskull of mine

macabre small scene of devastation

played out between the ears

doppelgänger runs amuck

within the pitch dark

yours truly inhabiting outer limits

of the twilight zone

analogous to being drowned

awakening sopping wet

overtaken by flood

of Biblical proportions

flotsam and jetsam

in tandem with

diabolical winged creatures

whiz by at the speed of sound

bewitch courtesy enigmatic hallucinations

within third eye blind,

I espy illusory oasis

tell tale signs stark reality

evince former paradise

stripped of flora and fauna

much as every other

island in the time stream

bereft of nature made

creatures great or small

wise and wonderful

veritable wasteland(s) of destruction

populate the entire oblate spheroid,

nothing but a watery expanse

courtesy global warming

untold casualties in the millions

across a wide swath,

where many species and genus

never granted a fighting chance

way after the
tipping point surpassed

carcasses afloat after polar icecaps melted

witnessing immediate rise in sea level

nobody prepared for apocalypse now

except survivalists well stocked;

self exempted from insight,

when greenday of reckoning

surprised majority of Homo sapiens

amidst wreckage

of twenty first century civilization

and its discontents

of petty squabbles

even Doubting Thomas' caught unawares

foreboding did not surprise

and came as welcome relief

to those who thought

humanity got to big for its britches

unfortunate for those oblivious

yet devout believers

interpreted Cataclysm the fault of

"Sinners in the Hands
of an Angry God"

where penance impossible mission to pay

for fatal impact

countless centuries before

after so called Age of Exploration

devolved into crass exploitation

of once idyllic

and edenic land masses

trumpeted and claimed

eminent domain declared

for kings and queens

of respective countries

at the expense

of indigenous peoples.
