In The Gaps

Kora

I wonder if you think of me,
sometimes when you’re out
and see something funny,
or hear a song I love.

Maybe when a weed splits the pavement,
forcing its way through cracked earth.
Or when the first drop of rain
hits the skin of your arm,
resting there for a heartbeat,
before it falls.

Maybe you find me in the gaps,
when you reach into your pocket
for something you have lost.
Or when a rush of birds takes flight,
scattering upward into the sky,
echoing something familiar,
before they fade from view.

I wonder if you look for me
the way I look for you.

A lovely poem of priority of focus and are we important enough to be looked for or thought about. Nicely expressed in most poetic form. Lovely images presented that leave a sense of longing. Well done
