Going the extra mile recently with my fitness,
God knows my mindset and my only witness.
I don't smoke or drink, vices keep some positive,
Things change in a blink, I'm not saying don't live.
Keeping a balance is good but it can be tipped,
Addictions aren't something I've personally lived.
Stayed away from those drugs, legal and illegal,
What are antipsychotics doing to our people?
Prescription pills are cabbaging minds with no frills,
Upbeat music only, an old mixtape of Peter Quills.
Feeling I've finally gained some sort of clarity,
The old me is gone but doesn't feel like a casualty.

A good write that set forth a healthy attitude. Nicely written with good meter and flow it makes sense. Maybe if society had any sobriety it would reset the age limit for smoking and drinking to sixty five where if still alive one could smoke and drink dying early to save on social security or maybe not taking about twenty years to acquire cancer one would then pass at a golden eighty five.
Thank you!
Most welcome Shaun
Nor does E.T. lol.
Are you sure? Lol.

Too late for me!!
Oh dear, haha!
Shaun, what a confident declaration of personal renewal. The lighter cultural reference works beautifully against the heavier concerns...and the sense of finally becoming more fully yourself really comes through. Powerful work, my friend! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thanks pal!
