Notice of absence from Tristan Robert Lange
Life is full of seasons. This is a season of transition for me, where I will be moving with my family to a new location. As such, with much logistics to consider, I am doing my best to keep up. Please know if I accidentally don't respond, it is not because I am ghosting or becoming distant. Once things settle after the move, I am sure life will return to some normalcy. In the meantime, and always:

stones
worn down
limestone
secure swill
leading—at will—
to more
stones
protruding,
jutting skyward,
heaven bound
sounds of hell’s
howling hounds
all temples
come toppling
down.

so aptly put my friend, much enjoyed
Thanks, Norman! Really glad this one delivered for you. Your continued presence and support mean a lot, my friend! ποΈπΊπ₯π
always welcome, much enjoyed
Now a hymn has the lines:
'What with care and toil he (mankind) buildeth / Tower and temple fall to dust'.
That started me singing it, but everyone else wished i hadn't sung (screeched). lol.
Hahaha! π Now Iβm imagining everyone fleeing for safety while Orchi carries bravely on, completely undeterred by the evacuation. And, somewhere, I hear a glugger singing on...and we knows who! Ah-gah-gah-gah-glug-glug! ποΈπΊπ₯π
"all temples
come toppling
down."
What a powerful statement of truth and applies to more that the physical temples but the inner ones as well. As a child I wondered why they called it limestone I tasted it and it had no lime taste to me.
Exactly, Soren! The physical is only part of whatβs collapsing here...the monuments we construct within ourselves fall too. But now the important question has been settled: limestone contains a deeply disappointing amount of lime flavor. π False advertising I tell you! And I was about to ask for someone to pass the guac! Thanks, my friend! ποΈπΊπ₯π
My pleasure my friend
Every temple like every effigy has its day.
Strange thing power, it stays with you till a more powerful force comes along and takes it away.
Exactly, Paul! Power has a funny way of convincing itself itβs permanent...right up until it isnβt. History certainly has plenty of rubble to prove the point. Much appreciated, my friend! ποΈπΊπ₯π
That days most assuredly always arrivesποΈππ»
Absolutely, my friend! Nothing stands forever...that day always finds its way around. Thanks for reading and engaging, Rik! Much appreciated! ποΈπΊπ₯π
Well written. Your poem reflects on the inevitability of decay and destruction, highlighting the fragility of human constructs and beliefs. The imagery you painted of stones worn down and temples toppling suggests a commentary on the transient nature of existence and the eventual downfall of even the most secure foundations.
Thank you so much, Friendship! Yes, indeed...that impermanence is very much where this one lives. Nothing we construct gets a guarantee of forever. Much appreciated, my friend! ποΈπΊπ₯π
Very dark and mysterious indeed, a metaphor worth reflecting on. Tristan you my friend are a rockstar! πΉ
Hahaha, thank you, Teddy! Rockstar Iβll gladly take! *Enters air guitar solo here* π€π Really appreciate you! You rock, too, my friend! ποΈπΊπ₯π
The hardest part of hell is the path that leads there ...
Indeed, Lorenz! That totally tracks. Thanks for reading, my friend! Much appreciated. ποΈπΊπ₯π
Nothing lasts forever does it .. thankfully .. tho' darkness seems to have more than it's fair share of it .. π΄π§π΄π¦ββ¬πββ¬π€
Absolutely, Neville! Thankfully, indeed...though darkness does seem to have negotiated one hell of a long-term lease. π Much appreciated, my friend! ποΈπΊπ₯π
