Charm and beauty which have their roots

In destiny that life recruits

From neglected seeds that bear no fruit

And time that echos in memories it loots

Like sapphire to turquoise and emerald to jade

Two different sides of the same brilliant shade

Though their luster will ultimately fade

Leaving only the impression they made

Light and shadow conspire with sadness

To bring tears to the artist as They ready Their canvas

We recall a time when innocence had Us

Like the blood of Jesus had by a chalice

Lyrics of Yesteryear embraced by Today

Like a sunny sky recalling a time it was gray

The stars within Your eyes align

To eclipse those in the World combined

The aberrant mania of a balanced mind

Five Year long poems with Months between lines

Watching the bees fly from flower to flower

From Day to Day and hour to hour

Mature beauty from which youth may cower

Staying close to the weak in case someday They're in power 

Sitting in nature,perhaps by a fire

Embracing its warmth,which will no doubt inspire

A poem or two and that which is sired 

Like a song composed for and sung by a choir

Unexplained outbursts mellow in time

Assisted by all too apropos rhymes

The brilliance of which will one Day align
