What exactly can I say?
And which path to take is best?
When I ask if you're okay
But I don't believe your yes
Too quickly did you answer
Threw off the tempo of your speech
As if to trick yourself with prayer
Where no consciousness can reach
Yet something glows behind me
Taste it burning on my tongue
Flicker of familiarity
This song: already sung
The world was pit against me
No one could understand
Would paint myself a deity,
Simply a helping hand
In my eyes I did no wrong
To those who wronged I said "so long"
For I could never harm, I'm sure
When my intentions were so pure
Realized it in college
When I thought I was in love
My capability of hurting
Thunder crashing from above
And so, I've spent my summers
Really picking at my brain
Through all my reckless blunders
Learned to dance despite the rain
I may be young, but not naive
I wear my heart upon my sleeve
And though I grieve for all you've seen
I cannot let the past repeat
Far too many times I've tried
To fix what I deem broken
Far too many chickens fried
'Cause I accidentally choked them
For your feelings, I will not beg
So come to me when you've made your bed
And though I wish you luck out there
This cannot be my weight to bare
