One Feather

Kurt Philip Behm

The call

 of the wide-open prairie

Where nothing moves

but the wind

A man can be truly

 alone here

To chase

what forever begins

One feather

to bless my transcendence

My horse painted proudly

I ride

In search of the great

Wakan Tanka

Whose trail leads me past

— the divide

(Songs Of The Lakota: August, 2026)

Lovely Kurt a poem of a free spirit in search of the great mystery that some would call a higher power to me nature itself. Lovely and a fave my friend

Kurt, what a beautifully spiritual piece! The quiet vastness drew me in, but it is the sacred purpose beneath the journey that stays with me. I know that longing to travel beyond certainty in search of the Divine. Excellent write, my friend! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Thank you. It was inspired by all the times I've run away from 'The Deer Woman.'
