A Fracture In Time

Sassy Lou

A fracture mars the steady march of hours

A fracture in my soul and breaks in my thoughts

Take me back to where it all began

So my heart can mend

Afloat on the breeze

Still sinking the entire time

Time runs in reverse

As the archives of my mind fill up

Floating ever upward

Morning brings comfort after the fall

As the shadows fell, while I waited

Twilight arrives to wrap the world in black

Now shadow takes the slipping soul

Pervaded by a silent dream

See the ground rapidly arising

So too with my silent shout shares that truth

Chest aches with a leftover rhythm

from my sleep

Do these dreams warn

of upcoming falls?

If only past-me had known my truest need

I should have anchored my feet

where my soul had already found its home

Got nothing to show right now, only an unclear image

Lost in the pause between a heartbeat and the fall..
