Mindlessly Present
What an adventure it was today
What adventure? It’s only 5 p.m.
A whole lot of nothing
Yet, a whole lot of everything
What an adventure it was today
Must everything be so meticulous
Must everything be so articulate
Let it go. . .
Let it go. . .
Let it go. . .
It is truly beautiful your kind of mind
Your kind of brilliance
Your kind of soul
What an adventure it had been today
Don't you ever question it?
Don't you ever want to?
To ask yourself. . . Do I dare say it aloud?
I see you,
I understand you
What a mental adventure it was today.

- Comment from author about the poem: Trapped in this metacognitive mind feels like the death of me, but also the rebirth. Using this beautiful platform to escape reality and dive into everyone's complex minds and spirits. This is my first poem. Today felt like a merry-go-round and it means a lot taking this first step forward towards poetry.
