Baby

anabella151

Lately the spider webs,

Of a delicate and fragile nature,

Have started to fray.

Letting the glowing gold of happiness

Squeeze out all the forsaken pores.

The welling of tears,

Like diamonds and sapphires,

Fail to leave Miss Miry Gaia.

And as she weeps with

Eyes, like windows of warmth,

Now red in woe,

The Earth trembles beneath her tears.

I too, like Miss Miry Gaia, weep and wail wretchedly.

Gaia or Gaea mother of earth and sky, the Titans as well as others known to the Romans as Terra gives meaning to this poem. Is it the environmental destruction of man that has provoked the tears? Well written it blends the mythological with the modern.
