What to believe

sorenbarrett

Once they said, don't eat white bread
Medicine begs don't eat white of eggs
Too much cholesterol, don't drink alcohol
This then they did revoke, what one should do to avoid a stroke is eat the white not the yolk
Then this too they did revoke one should eat both white and yolk
And a glass of wine or beer is good for the heart of folk
They said that tobacco smoke will cause you to croak
Now news broke that such might be good, health to provoke
So disregard what they spoke, it is merely a joke
You'll be a healthy bloke if you let your body evoke what you like to eat or smoke
Have no fear, be of good cheer have your wine and beer
Live your dream drink your cream
It will not clog your arterial gutter eat your butter
Awaken, don't be shaken by a tower of bacon
Your physiology is the etiology of your pathology

A wonderfully witty and provocative poem! The closing line is particularly clever, giving the poem a philosophical twist and leaving the reader with something to ponder.

A lovely piece about health advice. It is so hard these days to take care of yourself let alone stay healthy. We should all take care of ourselves eating foods that make us feel happy.

Thank you so much for your review and supportive words they are most important to me. Yes I would much rather eat a gallon of real ice cream than a single slice of that plastic cheese that they put on burgers and pizza.
