Yearning: Mutual Cannibalization

Seraphel

Her hair in my teeth,

my scent on her breath.

Nothing left of one another

but bits and pieces

of what once made us separate,

scattered.

We don’t have to be

the serpent that eats its own tail.

We can turn our hunger

toward one another—

smothered in each other’s spit.

Write it in blood:

all other loves are lesser.
