I awake to a sight that I have fought for myself to see
In a house built around me, that was never intended for me
I have been displaced from my own home and forced into this one
I have complied and settled but once again I am displaced for something I have not done
Even with my achievements in this house they continue to feel false
Like I'm an impostor stealing from the qualified
They lecture about the sins of my father
But as with I, my father is no holy man nor a believer to the sins placed on him by the dictate
My people never needed to live in fear of god to guide our morals
My people lived in fear of the health of the soil for the sake of our morals
So believe that one day this house shall fall and I will be home once again

- Comment from author about the poem: This is my first actual completed poem ever. I don't doubt it's probably a rough first lol. But it's coming from frustration and longing.
