I believe in reason, in logic, in evidence and in what’s tangible,
As well as in good and evil, in good fortune and misfortune,
And while I don't believe in love at first sight, I do believe in love,
Although I never thought I’d feel it like this, being incredulous and with my heart walled
She’s like a supernatural creature, a discovery that defies reality and creed,
A heavenly body, an angel fallen from heaven, something between a Viking queen and a Valkyrie,
Who in addition to a big heart, inherent humility and generosity,
Also possesses a natural grace and a royal elegance that command reverence
A gorgeous red lioness born in summertime between two waters of the cold Baltic
And blessed with a stunning beauty envied by the other deities in the cosmos,
Her name means "peace", something she brings when invoked and heard
And whose bright light shines on a whole field, making it smile and sprout full of daisies
She is my goddess of goddesses, my personal Saule*, the Sun of my eyes,
And I am no more than her poor devoted idolater, a pious man for her
That like the unfortunate Icarus with his wings of feathers and wax
I would fly as close to her as I could to witness her and worship her
She is a dazzling and radiant woman, daughter of the divine and eternal fire,
That fire from which Prometheus stole to save humanity
But that I want just for myself, to feed my threatened crops
And to feed my soul, with the hope that I transform into the fire worthy of her
Because she attracts and enlightens, welcomes and protects with her positive energy;
She inspires and entertains in courtship, accompanies and comforts in solitude;
She grants everyone a dream, hope, a sigh that caresses, kisses and comforts
And when the storm finally passes, she heals wounds and restores souls
Even if she were to suffer and hurt, even if she were to look sad and desolate
And if sad tears were to stream from her eyes down to her sweet face,
The light of her star will never go out and like the Phoenix will rise again
Burning even stronger, leaving in her wake love and with her tears fertility
And I, fancying myself as a romantic with my improvised and fake wings,
She makes me feel like I’m floating, makes me feel like a wagtail* in flight
And although I fly alone, I look for her enthusiastically non-stop
Since my love for her encourages and inspires me, removes my bitterness and pain
Because I think about, I dream of, and I love her in my lonely moments, as if I’m praying
In happiness as in sadness I admire her, I worship her and adore her fervently
Both in the day’s blue sky, covered with clouds as if they were sheets over her body,
As in the night, with her starry beauty and with the pale face of the beautiful moon
Every time this mountain queen, queen of the pride of feline beauties,
Reaches the top of her beloved mountain and is conquered by it over and over again,
I feel more determined to fly towards her and try to conquer her myself
Because instead of melting and killing me, the warmth of her heart will save me
