ECLIPSE

Carlos Alberto BUSTILLOS

ECLIPSE

In ancient Babylon,
eclipse, a time for sacrifices,
war upon those in power,
it is time to sacrifice them.

History returns,
sacrifices renewed,
rulers to be sacrificed,
eclipse, a change of command.

ECLIPSE

En la Babilonia de los tiempos,

eclipse, es hora de sacrificios,

guerra a los mandatarios,

es hora de sacrificarlos.

La historia vuelve,

sacrificios renovados,

mandatarios a sacrificar,

eclipse, cambio de mandos.

Metaphoric, historic and a poem of change. If there is one thing that is certain it is change. Well written my friend.

"For thousands of years, an eclipse was not a spectacle but a political threat: kings who sought a substitute to die in their place, astronomers executed for failing to predict it, and sacrifices to restore light to the sky."

There's an eclipse in Spain today, and there were blood moons... bad omens. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, have a great day!
