the inability to make a choice.
that is what keeps me tethered.
the days & nights start blending;
becoming something hard to describe & uncomfortable to sit with.
they don’t freeze or progress.
they just exist around my silhouette
& i’m forced to let it.
the uncertainty.
the inability to bang the gavel.
that is what keeps me tethered.
wielding swift justice in one hand & dangling hope with the other.
i have no reason to stay.
but neither do i have one to go.
so i let the chain of my hollow existence
continue to be welded to my anvil.
whatever happens, happens.
i’m tethered after all.
