I sit by my window and watch,
I sit on the last bus and watch.
I notice how others walk and talk,
I try to guess their thoughts.
There’s a woman laughing on the phone,
Maybe in the morning she cried.
There’s an old man sitting still,
Maybe he can’t wait to get home.
There’s a teenage couple,
Maybe one finally confessed.
There’s a little puppy,
Maybe he’s waiting to be noticed.
There’s another girl, too,
Staring straight at me.
Maybe her day was a little better than fine,
Maybe she is thinking about mine.
