The Gothic key

Kaz

Along the darkened shore,

her subdued heart

asked the darkness, why?

Yet the sea did answer–

embedded in the sand,

wrapped in lace,

an old gothic key,

perhaps a charm

She reached through moonlight,

and at its touch

her heart did open

to wonders now begun.

Mystical and magical it in metaphor opens a door. Nicely written Kaz.

A mysterious, gothic atmosphere. I like how the old key becomes a symbol of hope and new beginnings, opening her heart to new wonders.
