It's silent except for the bustle of thoughts
The occasional cricket or snore
And the connecting of dots
But the world at 2 AM is quiet
The shadows dance on walls
And the clock sleepily ticks by
The bed is warmly wrapped in blankets and shawls
And it comes to a still
Planes pass swiftly through the dark
Cars calmly roll through streets
And the birds settle down in the park
Hearts slowing to a few beats
The world at 2 AM
Is quiet until the morning starts
And people begin their commutes on the tram
All quiet until it finally departs

A lovely write it is those quite hours that I value most. Nicely done
It’s nice to have quiet away form the loud world. Thanks Soren
You are most welcome Allie
That’s the usual time I get out of bed and have a snack 😁
Whether I was asleep before or not is a different matter…
Great work!
Late night snacks just hit different! Thanks as always Fränz!
You are most welcome!
Allie, I connect with this deeply...there’s something almost sacred about those late-night hours when everything feels suspended and the world seems briefly emptied of urgency. Really enjoyed this, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
