I rushed to become an adult, like most of us do.
Curious to explore the unknown,
not knowing we were already in a race.
Blindly, adulthood came.
I began to race with the world,
a race so easy to forget.
Giving myself false truths—
that I had to become like them
to win the race.
Without knowing,
we were all running the same lap.
On this short map we call life,
the unknown path we take
slowly kills the child within us.
We start acting like machines,
running, achieving, becoming—
without realising
we were never meant to win the race.
We were only meant to live.
