Bartering Truth

Kurt Philip Behm

There are only

and always

two kinds of lies ...

Ones to deceive

while the others protect

And two kinds of liars

that barter

the truth ...

One kneels in shame

— and one genuflects

Wow, Kurt...this is concise, philosophical, and loaded with tension. The idea that lies can come from radically different motives, yet still require some reckoning with truth, really lands. Powerful piece, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
