Has it really left?

Allie561

The storm is over

Or so they say

Things are better

It's a new day

I still see the lightning

I still listen to the rain

The trees are swaying

I can hear the rattling chain

The weatherman says it's done

The neighbors say it's through

Am I losing my mind?

Or is what they tell me not true?

The clouds are gray

The sky is dark

I won't go outside

I won't walk to the park

It's still looming

Waiting to rumble

There will be no warning

There won't be a mumble

It'll be a roar

Something that shakes you to your core

The storm is over

From what I've heard

Well said whether metaphor for emotional storm or literal it makes sense. Well done

Thank you Soren! I think I was going for more of a metaphorical approach!

        You are most welcome Allie

Allie, what a powerful portrayal of fear surviving beyond the event that created it. Everyone else declares safety, yet the speaker remains trapped between memory, instinct, and doubt. This connected deeply, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
