"watch the bills go up"
Let's write-off the Tax Collector,
that predatory fellow
Whose appetite for your savings
is as boundless as his bellow,
And who, when told
the Government is “cutting” costs,
responds with cheerful yup
— For every time they cut a dollar,
the total on the bill goes up.
Let's lampoon the hypochondriac
who greets each Tuesday
with a brand‑new chronic Affliction,
announced with a flourish that's theatrically histrionic,
While sipping kale smoothies and proclaiming,
with a fervour positively Shakespearean‑and‑tonic,
That his light head‑cold is not a cold at all
but something thoroughly, catastrophically bubonic.

nicely put my friend
Thanks Norman🙏🏻🕊️
Most welcome friend
As for the tax collector he can catch the plague as far as I am concerned and the histrionic well I have known many and feel for their plight for I never get sick, just days that I don't feel well. Good one Cryptic
So true, on both counts! Thanks friend 🙏🏻🕊️
Have a great day
You too, Soren🙏🏻🕊️
Luckilly for us in Britain, we've got Andy looking after us.
He's saving money by replacing the British people with migrants.
Something tells me he's not going to last.
Oh dear. That's quite an ongoing story in many nations it seems.🙏🏻🕊️
In days of old - someone sneezed - argh!! Dive for cover, fumigate the place, etc. And tipping sh....umthing out of upstairs floors on to the street. I'm gonna be sick! That sh.... joke is from an old Carry On film.
Carry on is perfectly chaotic! A true catalogue of calamity. 🕊️🙏🏻
What a wonderfully biting piece, arqios! The supposed budget cuts that somehow enlarge the public’s burden pair perfectly with the hypochondriac enlarging every minor symptom into catastrophe. Both targets thrive on exaggeration, and your wordplay punctures them beautifully. Excellent satire, my friend! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Glad it resonated, Tittu, always good to see satire still kicking around in a very sensitive age. 🙏🏻🕊️
Tax Collector. At least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a Mask.
Well Said.
Ha, sometime ya just got to laugh and shrug it off but it aint really funny at all is it .. it's a fact .. Nicely pointed out sir .. Neville ⭐⭐⭐⭐👍
Cheers, N. Both humour and satire, a great combo 🙏🕊️
