The Star

Ocean Blue

A thousand stars lit up the sky,

But one shone pure and bright,

Lighting the way for fireflies

Through the wretched forest night.

When the moon hid behind the trees,

And shadows grew so wild and free,

You, with your light abound,

Your warmth melting the darkness around.

Now the sun has risen in the sky,

And the shadows have all passed by.

You appear so dim now,

Your fire a flickering spark.

The woods have turned to ash,

And the fire has gone quiet.

Oh, star, why have you gone silent

When I still need my path alight?

So, even if I don't see you,

I hope you're still guiding me.

Will you light again,

Just as you did every night?
