Treasures lost

sorenbarrett

I wed the south wind that a hurricane became
With her at my back, I the sail in her game
I held a shooting star by its tail losing my grip it slipped away
I slept with the shadow of the moon but in the morning it wouldn't stay

I drank sunshine to my fill but grew thirsty again soon
I filled my pockets with tender love gone by afternoon
A rainbow beckoned gold that ran through my fingers
In my hand a shamrock the only thing that now lingers
