I don' t get out much as a rule,
I have two children still at school.
Their mother left us long ago
For freedoms I can never know,
Or value much the truth be told.
Family's worth more than gold.
I do my best, do what I can,
I meet the tests of being a man
They are my burden and my joy,
Ones a girl, and ones a boy.
He looks like her, she looks like me
Though both full of gentility,
Which she did lack, in spades, alas.
Half full half empty; that's my glass.

What a tale within such few words. Nicely rhymed and with good meter and flow. Honorable father taking care of what he created. I loved the part that says he looked like her and her like you such a nice way of saying all are one. Well done my friend
