      it's those in power who keep gaining, as the events nowadays reveal ..
      unity is now an outdated word

        I think that is a profound distinction. Division only has meaning in relation to unity; without unity, there is nothing to divide. Perhaps this is why the idea of unity remains relevant—even when it feels distant or difficult to achieve.
