Choose And Use Your Weapon Wisely

Anthony Hanible

Choose your weapon

Wisely

Soft

Deadly

Quiet

Ready

Not steel

Not flame

Not anything

That stains

Your name

Your body

Is a weapon

But not

For harm

It’s the shield

It’s the charm

It’s the calm

Before alarm

Your breath

Is a blade

Thin

Precise

Cutting fear

Like ice

Your stance

Is a spear

Rooted

Clear

Saying

I’m still here

Your voice

Is a whip

Cracking truth

From your lip

Making shadows

Lose their grip

Your hands

Are tools

Not for breaking

But for taking

Pain

And reshaping

It into

Something

Worth waking

Your heart

Is a bomb

But the kind

That heals

That steals

The dark

And makes it

Kneel

Choose truth

As your knife

Choose silence

As your shield

Choose prayer

As your field

Where battles

Turn

And burdens

Yield.

Choose discipline

As your spine

Choose love

As your sign

That even war

Can be divine

When the victory

Isn't mine

But ours

And when the fight

Comes nightly

Quietly

Inside you

And around

Use your body

Like a weapon

That protects

Reflects

Connects

And never

Cuts

The wrong

Direction

Choose it

Use it

Wisely
