Confined

applecherry

Intense,

Insecure,

Wanting,

Searching,

Reassurance.

Who am I without you?

I knew before,

But now,

I’m not quite sure.

Balance,

Time apart,

Things left unsaid,

Questions unanswered,

As they are filled by,

Anxiety,

Desperation,

Fear.

I want to be secure.

I can be happy by myself.

But as soon as I get that feeling,

I lose it all.

My logic pushed aside,

And I think,

Overthink,

About you,

What you’re doing,

How you’re feeling,

When you will see me,

Why not sooner,

Why not longer,

Why not?

I take your answers,

as a rejection of myself.

I need to hold on longer.

Ask more,

to feel okay,

for a little while.

And then ask again,

Because I’m unsure,

about another thing.

I can feel myself creating,

Pressure,

Intensity.

A confined space,

For you and I.

One I created,

That I’m not sure I even want to be in,

But one I’m not sure how to get out of.

When passion turns to obsession and obsession becomes dependency then the relationship is mortally wounded. A raw and convincing write of emotion well said.
