Staring at the ceiling while the silence starts to scream,
I’m chasing down a version of a long-forgotten dream.
You hold the heavy shadows like they’re badges on your chest,
While I’m just trying harder, putting all my soul to test.
You say I’m just a failure, a disguise I can’t outrun,
But I’m still standing tall beneath a cold and hidden sun.
The bridge I tried to build is just a pile of broken stone,
I’m carving out a future that I’m walking on alone.
Every win I claim is met with whispers of defeat,
But I’m finding all the rhythm in the struggle on the street.
I’m not the lie you painted, I’m the truth you refuse to see,
Someday you’ll wake up and realize you were wrong about me.
The air is getting thinner but I’m learning how to breathe,
I’ve got a thousand reasons just to pack it up and leave.
But I’ll keep on climbing till I’m far above the gray,
Turning all your static into words I need to say.
Yeah, you’ll be proud eventually, when the dust begins to clear,
And you’ll finally see the strength that’s been growing all these years.
