Sometimes the world can be a mysterious place
So many different planets orbiting around in Space
Are we really alone I often wonder as I gaze
Into the sky trying to avoid the sun’s rays
On the surface at least the moon has no water so they say
But what’s going on underneath may be different, we may find out another day
Saturn with its coloured rings is a mystery to me
Venus and the rest maybe one day we will see
If there really is life out there and we are not alone
It makes the future interesting hopefully we can atone
For not being believers right from the off
Those with the knowledge just seem to scoff
There cannot be life out there in space
We are told time and again
But there are mysterious occurrences that are hard to explain
Bright lights in the sky strange noises heard from afar
Picked up by Amateur Astrologers who find them rather bizarre
The Sun has been shining daily for millions of years
Followed by the Moon at night just to allay our fears
Of what just makes this Universe of ours really exist
With so many Planets in our Solar system it’s hard to insist
That we are alone in this vast collection of space
And that it’s impossible for life to be out there staring in our face
But why is it we deem it unlikely, it’s hard to believe
When in truth it’s ridiculous not to perceive
That there may well be more life forms, we may meet some one day
But probably not before I am well old and grey
The believers will keep trying and try as they may
Maybe it is impossible to prove one way or the other anyway.
