So very weak
For so very long
In death no one
Is ever strong
We know the end
Isn't far away
But still we dread
That fateful day
We prepare ourselves
For what is near
Yet in our hearts
We still feel fear
Someone we love
Is at heavens door
Although in out hearts
They'll live forever more
The battle was long
She fought a good fight
Up toward the heavens
Her soul will take flight
In her final moments
Here on earth
She was surrounded by love
Like on the day of her birth
I remember her smile
How it lit up a room
Knowing her final day
Is coming too soon
She'll watch over me now
From high above
Everyday I'll know that
I'll be feeling her love
All stories end in death
Ernest Hemingway once said
Remembering those who pass on
Have a peaceful journey ahead
The hurt and pain she felt on earth
Will now all sunside
But those of us left behind
The hurt and pain we can't hide
So as my life continues on
Often times I'll think of her
Recalling great memories
And what good times they were
There will come a time of healing
For those of us left behind
For even in our darkest hour
A light of hope we can always find
