The power of words
Thanks for the read Norman I just had to try it once. Limits are meant to be broken and I will be surprised if many read this one through. I appreciate your bravery.
if we dont read we cant form opinions or judgements my friend
My sentiments exactly but many do without reading
so true
Please don't be surprised I read it through...twice! ๐คฃ Glad you gave it a try, Soren!
Blast, just got past three, hate that.
When is this rap song coming out, its a hit already.
Thanks Paul for the read. Just noticed got too many friend and have to thin them out that is if I don't get kicked off the site first.
Yes, de-merits might be coming your way.
We'll do a crowd fund for you. lol
Thanks for the thought Paul it didn't work for Mapplethorpe though.
I think I was called most of those names when I was young and that was just from my family.Just kidding. It certainly highlights the amount of insults that exist in the English language. A disturding list.
Thank you David for your review and comment. It is disturbing on both sides for me. That there are that many (and I had to thin them down for there were so many more to choose from) and second that people are so sensitive to them and others less offensive. My father often called me several in a loving and sometimes irritated manner and I always took it as a term of endearment rather than offense. It is the circumstance and tone of voice that dictates the offense not the word to me.
๐I think it's important to tell us how you feel this morning. I was quite impressed with the words that were never expressed by others before me. I learned a lot this morning at my old age; impressive, I must say.๐Great job.
Thank you Friendship for the review words only have power if one lets them have it. Appreciate your comment
What a relentless and cleverly constructed piece, Soren. The accumulated ugliness reveals how language turns every imaginable difference into ammunition...and then the closing joke catches poets standing among the accused. Brutal, funny, and effective, my friend. ๐น๐ค๐๐ฏ๏ธ๐ฆโโฌ
Thanks my friend for your review. Yes anything can be turned into defamation either by the one uttering it or the one listening. I have heard pornography turned into poems and poems turned into pornography hate crimes turned into poetry and poetry turned into hate crimes. It is both a matter of what is said and what is heard. I find the whole thing absurd. It is a matter of taste of which this write has none.
I wasn't offended, I must be some kind of poet.
You came close with a few though. I'm not going to tell you which ones!
Thanks so much yes I believe you are right a poet it is. Appreciate the read.
Labels are such that the adhesive either sticks too long or wonโt stick at all. ๐๏ธ๐๐ป
Thanks for weathering the abusive adhesive and the worst part is that sometimes even when the label peels it leaves marks behind.
Yeh - some days are like that, Soren...
Thanks Dave appreciate the review. I use other words when I hit my thumb or stub my toe but these will do for now. I was afraid to use the really bad ones for fear of being banned from the site.
Ever thought of Writing Greeting Cards?
Nurse the Smelling Salts please.
A powerful Write. โ๏ธ๐
Thanks Kevin for the read thought that this one might take the shiny finish off things. Just one of those bad ideas that everyone gets and has to try once in a while.
Art and Literature are made up of different Ideas.
Good or Bad.
I didn't realise I had upset ya, for ya to spout this tirade at me! lol.
Or - very naughty of me - Ahhh, a poem to recite to KP every day! lol. Noooo, I mustn't be that dreadful.
Thanks for reading Orchi. This poem inspired by your naughty poem the other day. I told ya this one would offend. lol Not for Fido though
The incredible power of words. Probably caused more hurts than actual physical assaults. Where we live lets you write those words without repercussions. Some things just have to be said. I like how you ended it.
I find it interesting that even on certain sites I have been censored having poems deleted. Amongst good friends certain offensive terms are used as a form of endearment but people should have enough common sense to know when not to use them. But then it seems that people lack that common sense and sensitivity.
I agree with every thing you said. We've become far to sensitive as a society. I'm from the old school and have to constantly think before I speak.
You had me at shaved ass of a cat!
This sounds like roll call at my high school reunion.
Thanks Franz I appreciate the read and comment. I actually had a friend in high school whose name was Harold Balls and went by Harry. Roll call was always great fun when a substitute teacher was present.
How fun! Really neat idea, my friend. Like it a lot! A fave.
Thanks for the read, I hope no one was too offended but I wanted to see who would respond and who would not and if the site would censor it or not. Limits must be tested you know. I appreciate your tolerance
Of course. As you probably heard before, "The unexamined life is not a life worth living". ๐
Yes indeed
Hi Sorenbarret, there's me worried at times that some of my writes are a bit risquรฉ ๐
Cheese hog? I love that one, I'll have to pinch it. And Fugly? I'll have to change the name of our dog. It's a pug, you see, and... you get it.
The whole thing is quite unhinged, which is right up my street. I especially like the last stanza.
- Syd ๐
Thank you Syd I was a bit cautious about releasing this one for all those that are a bit sensitive but said what the heck give it a shot.
I don't offend easily, but good try.
Guess I'm a poet, and maybe a crypto-nazi... well, according to "liberals", jeez but hasn't the centre moved way to the left, we're all Nazis now!
I'm not going to tell you how many of those terms apply to me!
๐
Thanks for the read my friend. I am offended by those that are too easily offended these days. Maybe it comes from working in a mine, with construction, veterans, even doctors and the mentally unstable but it seems that one can not even joke anymore without someone taking offense. I appreciate the support.
Daily I drink a couple of litres of water, walk 5 miles, eat a lot of protein, and try to offend at least 2 psychologically fragile people.
The hardest part of my day is getting the two litres of water in.
Cheers
Gary
